The Anchorage is a villa at Belmont St. James Jamaica on a mountainside with a breathtaking view of Montego Bay and miles of coastline yet only a few minutes drive from coast and beaches. The villa is surrounded by several acres of landscaped grounds and is therefore very private.
The Anchorage was the home and studio of the late Michael Lester (originally Leszczynski) a Polish sea captain and painter of renown whose paintings appear above. A number of his original works are on display in the studio. He designed the house and supervised craftsmen from the village of Belmont in its construction.
You will appreciate why Michael Lester chose this site for what he called his ""Private Rennaissance"" after retiring from the sea. The splendid vistas and the tranquility gave him peace and inspiration and the village supplied the models for much of his finest work.
At The Anchorage life can be peaceful and full of beauty... the beauty of the view the skies the sunsets the stars; the beauty which inspired the artist.
The Anchorage is a large house on several levels which in keeping with the nautical background of its original owner we call the upper and lower decks. It is built with distinctive architecture on a commanding site where the hillside plunges into a deep gorge."
