Experience Santa Fe authentically in this beautiful stylish home just 3 miles from the historic downtown Santa Fe Plaza...a 5 minute drive but worlds apart in privacy and seclusion.

The house was custom built in 1994 by the previous and only owners....and it was carefully conceived and planned to include many special architectural features and aesthetically pleasing touches.

For instance all the vigas are 12 inches which are now almost impossible to find in modern-day residential structures in Santa Fe. They certainly give ""presence"" to the tall ceilings and the open concept plan that characterizes the house. Another architectural feature is the perfectly planned siting of the house to take advantage of morning sun and evening sunsets. Even the arched doorways and doors add unique

character to this home.

Also the way the house straddles its site and follows the ""lay of the land"" is rather unusual for Santa Fe homes...and gives this one a unique ambience and feeling of spaciousness because of its different levels.

Starting at the ""top"" of the house you'll find the guest bedroom den/office guest bath with tub/shower and laundry room which leads into the two car garage. Down three steps and you're in the dining room entry

kitchen master bath with jacuzzi and master walk-in closet level. Another three steps from the entry hall leads down to the large living room with tall fireplace immense windows and half-wall surround....and off the Master Bath and dressing room three more steps lead down to the Master Bedroom with its own fireplace and private bricked patio.

Surrounding the home are outdoor living areas so perfect for the climate of Santa the front of the house is a large walled brick patio with gardens and fruit trees....and off the dining room is a 40-foot

covered brick patio perfect for whiling away the hours with a good book or for throwing a party!

The Location

Just 7 minutes from downtown Santa Fe going west on Alameda Street in an area of horse farms and open land House of Blue Doors is one of 36 homes in a development of custom built residences on 2-3 acre sites. Each home is unique and all are sited in such a way that views and privacy are maintained. And because all the homes fit so well into the hilling land dotted with pinons and junipers there is a feeling of being ""in the country"". Roads have been purposely left unpaved to secure that feeling.

The House Itself is at the end of the cul-de-sac and is set back from the road. There is an arroyo running through the property on the north side which gives it definition from the neighbors and the windows have been placed to allow a minimum of site lines to other houses.

Except for the extensive walled garden and container gardens on the large back patio the land has been left in a natural state to maximize

the ""Santa Fe"" feeling.

The total finished area of 2 065 square feet is on three levels with three steps between the levels and can accommodate six persons comfortably in two bedrooms each with one queen bed and a third

den/bedroom with a twin trundle bed. There are two private baths:

1st LEVEL Entry and Walled Patio and Garden Dining Room and Outdoor Patio Kitchen Master Bath Master Walk-in Closet

2nd LEVEL (Top) Guest Bedroom Guest Bath Den/Bedroom Laundry Room


3rd LEVEL (Bottom) Master Bedroom and Bedroom Patio

The Living Room is also on the lower level but is accessed from the Entry Hall.

In addition to the main house with its flood of light tall ceilings and unique architectural details there are three outdoorpatios affording wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. You just couldn't pick a better spot for outdoor dining or just relaxing...and

from the walled garden you can enjoy breakfast while watching the birds...or keeping an eye out for the many jack rabbits in the area.


* Children are welcome but will be counted as adults. The house has not been child-proofed as we feel parents are the best judge of their own children and will use common sense in setting art or other objects aside that might be tempting to youngsters.

* We can allow only a maximum of 6 persons (in 2 queen beds and a twin trundle bed)

* Sorry no pets (breaking this rule will result in an automatic forfeiture of your security/damage deposit)

* No Smoking inside the house (breaking this rule will result in an automatic forfeiture of your security/damage deposit)

* Until confirmed Rates are subject to change without notice

* Reservations are from Saturday to Saturday...but please inquire if you need a different schedule particularly during low season.
